CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Puppy Agility: (6-12 months old) This is not an obedience class but instead builds on basic obedience skills. Participants will be working on sits, stays, having dogs work at their sides plus handling over agility equipment including the dog walk, pause table, tunnel and chute (puppies won't be jumping).  We will also do an introduction to clicker training.

Level 1 Agility: (1 year and up, builds on Puppy Class) This class builds on basic obedience skills and covers handling over agility equipment including jumps, pause table, tunnel, chute, and the dog walk. Your dog should be able to sit, lay down, and reasonably stay (we'll work on that) and be able to work with you off-leash (we'll work on that, too.)

Level 2 Agility: (Pre-requisite: Level 1 class or similar) This class builds on Level 1 as you develop your handling and course strategy skills, working with your dog on increased confidence and safe obstacle performance.  This class emphasizes speed and accuracy along with improved handling on sequences with more ground work, jumps, jump grids, and turns. The teeter and weave poles will be introduced.

Level 3 Agility: (Pre-requisite: Level 2 class or similar)  This class builds on Level 2, continuing with course running and handling skills, while refining the approach to the teeter and weave poles. These will be incorporated in sequences as the course progresses.

Level 4 Agility: (Pre-requisite: Level 3 class or similar)  This class builds on Level 3, where participants should be able to do the teeter and weave poles plus all obstacles.  This class will focus on handling skills utilizing bigger sequences.

Linda Keens

Linda got started in agility in 2011 thanks to her Novice A (first) dog, a shy rescue-mix named Amber. Linda signed Amber up for their first agility class because β€œit sounded like fun!” They never expected to be competing at the highest level after just a few short years. In 2015, Amber earned her Championship title in NADAC, in 2016 she earned her Championship title in AKC, and in 2017 she qualified and attended AKC Nationals. She is currently one Super Q away from her Championship title in USDAA. Linda loves introducing new teams to the world of agility. She says there is nothing more rewarding then watching a new team learn and grow together.

Our agility trainers also offer private lessons-- the cost is $45 for 30 minutes.  If interested, please contact us at frolickdogs@gmail.com
